Named in tribute to her family

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the birth of their second child, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Winsdor, for many people this was the first time they had heard of the name. But Harry was very familiar with it, the unusual moniker is his grandmother Queen Elizabeth's pet name from her father, and the name Prince Philip called her during their marriage. The name stems from when the Queen was just a toddler and couldn't pronounce her own name, Elizabeth, properly. And of course the tot's middle name is honor of Harry's late mother Princess Diana.
